— Why it moved

Why NVVE Stock Doubled Today — July 10, 2026

A 1-for-18 reverse split left Nuvve with a 245,000-share float, and traders squeezed the V2G charging stock 136% intraday before it gave most of the move back.

What moved NVVE stock

Nuvve is a San Diego vehicle-to-grid company. Its tech lets parked EV fleets sell battery power back to the grid. Nothing new hit the wires Friday — this was day three of a squeeze that started when a 1-for-18 reverse split took effect July 6 and shrank the float to roughly 245,000 shares. The stock had already ripped 72% on Wednesday. The only fundamental story in the background, a July 2 deal for its Danish arm to buy a Romanian battery-storage project, was a week old.

The mechanics

A 245K-share float under a $5M cap means a few hundred thousand dollars of buying moves the tape by itself. Friday's volume turned that float over about 72 times. This was share scarcity at work, not the business.

NVVE by the numbers

The alert window

Full disclosure first: NVVE had already run from an $8.78 close to $14.68 (+67%) before Stock Pulse pinged at 10:11 AM. The alert caught the last leg. From there it went to $20.73 by 10:44, +41% in 33 minutes, on real volume — 288K shares traded in the peak minute alone. Thirty-three minutes of window, and it paid only if you sold into the spike.

How NVVE's move ended

The unwind matched the ramp. By lunch NVVE was back under the alert price, and it closed at $13.67 — 6.9% below the alert and 34% off the high. Worth remembering what's underneath: barely any revenue, mounting losses, a late 10-Q, and a share price 99% below its split-adjusted 52-week high. The reverse split was done to keep the Nasdaq listing, not to reward holders.

The tell: a fresh reverse split plus a six-figure float is a mechanical setup. Scarcity is the whole story, and it unwinds as fast as it inflates.
