Why NWGL Stock Tripled, Then Fell Below a Dime Today — October 16, 2026

Two days after an unexplained 78% crash, a Macau timber stock tripled off 23 cents through two volatility halts with no news at all, then spent the afternoon giving every cent back.

What moved NWGL stock

CL Workshop Group, formerly Nature Wood Group, is a Macau-based forestry company selling logs, decking, flooring and charcoal, listed in the US as ADSs. There was no press release or filing on Friday. Nothing. Two days earlier the stock had crashed from $1.18 to $0.26, also without a public explanation, so this was a dead-cat bounce on a chart that had just been cut by four-fifths.

The mechanics

At 22 cents the whole company was worth about $12M, and 365M ADSs traded against a 30-day average of 1.4M. Behind it sits a $200M at-the-market offering agreement signed September 30. That's a shelf many times the company's size, and non-affiliate Class A shares had already gone from 39.5M in July to 359M by September.

The alert window

Stock Pulse alerted at 10:54 AM at $0.5602. By then it was already up about 146% from the $0.228 first print and had tagged $0.728 right after the first halt, so the alert came mid-run, not at the start. It pushed to $0.70 at 11:05, got halted, and reopened at $0.71 at 11:10. That's +26.7% in 16 minutes. A second push hit $0.707 at 11:23 on 4.5M shares, so the level traded twice. Call it half an hour of real window.

How NWGL's move ended

It slid under $0.45 by 11:38, under $0.30 by 12:27, and printed $0.094 at 3:12 PM, 83% below the alert. A late squeeze dragged it back to a $0.234 close, 58% under the alert, then it drifted to $0.166 after hours. No news, a fresh collapse two days old, and a $200M share-selling program on file. Nothing in that setup argued for holding.

The tell: when a stock triples on no news right after crashing, the halts mark the top, not a launch pad.
